When will The Christmas Markets Open in Budapest in 2025?

The Christmas spirit will be back in Budapest very soon! The capital's two major Advent markets, the 15th anniversary Advent Basilica and the Vörösmarty Classic Xmas in Vörösmarty Square, will open on November 14.

The Advent Basilica in St. Stephen's Square has been welcoming celebrants for the 15th year, having won the title of Europe's best Christmas market four times, and in 2024 it was chosen as the best European Christmas market of all time - the organizers highlighted in their statement sent to MTI on Tuesday.

In front of the basilica, visitors will again be treated to selected works by Hungarian artisan exhibitors and a special gastronomic offer.

The Vörösmarty Square fair evokes classic Christmas traditions. At the mouth of Váci Street, the bustling fair welcomes Budapest residents, as well as domestic and foreign tourists, with an authentic atmosphere.

The organizers are preparing a number of spectacular and entertaining innovations and special offers for the anniversary season, about which detailed information will be provided in the coming days - the announcement reads.
