However, the Sziget organizers acted quickly, and we already know that British indie legend The Kooks will perform on the festival's Main Stage on Friday ahead of Kid Cudi.
The name of the band The Kooks is synonymous with energetic, catchy, upbeat, good-humored songs - they last proved this at Sziget in 2018. Since then, they released 10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark in 2022, which flirts with several genres, from 80s synthpop to funky to progressive rock, but in essence it is an indie album, and specifically by The Kooks. And in May of this year, they released Never/Know, which clearly proves that the band can evolve while staying true to their roots. According to critics, the album seamlessly blends nostalgic elements with contemporary influences, resulting in a collection that is both familiar and refreshing.
