The two Zugló police officers got married in August and will welcome their first child, Szofia next year. Police love story in Budapest: a routine ID check led to the turning point
Two officers from the BRFK XIV. District Police Station said “I do” on the last weekend of August – and their story is proof that fate always brings people together at the best moment.
Zsolti, a young police officer waited nearly four years to ask his beloved, Rebi to marry him. Although they attended the Adyliget Police Academy together in 2020, he only watched her from afar at the time, not having the courage to approach her. It remained a platonic crush – until February 2024.
During a routine ID check, a turning point came in their lives. Zsolti, who was then serving as a police officer in Angyalföld, wanted to stop a car with his patrol partner, but the driver had other ideas. They requested backup to pursue the vehicle, and that's when the police from the neighboring district got involved. Rebi, who had been the object of Zsolti's affection for four years, was among the first to arrive at the scene. His excitement only intensified when he saw her.
Once the operation was over, he knew immediately that the time had come. With his heart pounding in his throat and his voice trembling, he finally spoke to her – not only to thank her for her help, but to say everything he had been longing to say for four years: he wanted to see her again, not on duty, but just the two of them.
Marriage and their first child on the way
They have been inseparable since March 2024, and during their months of love, it turned out that Rebi had already suspected that the boy liked her when they were in school.
Now that they are writing a new chapter in their life together, the greatest miracle is on its way: they are expecting their first daughter, Szofia, at the beginning of next year.
At the end of August, surrounded by family and friends, they pledged their eternal love to each other, radiant with happiness.
