Designers from eight countries are coming to the 17th Budapest Central European Fashion Week, where an international platform will be created for designers from the region.
Budapest will once again be the focus of the Central European fashion industry between February 9–15, 2026. The Budapest Central European Fashion Week presents the latest in contemporary fashion and the unique vision of Hungarian designers. At the 17th event series, more than 40 domestic and international designers from 8 countries in addition to Hungary will present their 2026–2027 fall–winter collections. Organized by Creative Hungary, the fashion week will further strengthen its position as the region’s leading professional forum by building on talent development and regional professional collaborations. Professional programs and events await those interested during the week, and the highlight shows will be held on February 13–15. will take place between the Apollo Gallery and the Museum of Fine Arts.
Strengthening the voice of the Central and Eastern European region
The AW2627 season further strengthens the scope of BCEFW's international collaborations, with designers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Armenia, Romania and Ukraine coming to the event. Thus, the works of 17 foreign and 24 Hungarian creators will be on display in various presentation formats, which will support fashion brands in strengthening their domestic and international visibility.
“Today, we no longer follow trends, but rather convey the voice of the Central and Eastern European region – and increasingly, we shape it ourselves. International collaborations create bridges between the countries of the region. While we provide a stage in Budapest for designers from neighboring countries, our partners provide market entry and sales opportunities for Hungarian creators abroad. BCEFW is thus not just a seasonal event, but a sustainable investment in a consciously built ecosystem that simultaneously serves to increase professional prestige, strengthen international relations and increase the competitiveness of the creative industry. After all, the fashion industry has strong export potential, but at the same time, as one of the largest employers, it also has an impact on domestic economic stability,” emphasized Zsófia Jakab, CEO of Creative Hungary, Ministerial Commissioner responsible for the development and sectoral coordination of the creative industry.
BCEFW is a bastion of creativity and innovation
With the Budapest Central European Fashion Week, Creative Hungary (formerly known as Magyar Divat & Design Ügynökség) is putting forward the ambition to make Budapest not just an eye-catching stop on the fashion map, but also an international player with a clear strategy, appropriate infrastructure and long-term vision. Thus, in addition to mature brands already proven in the market, it also treats supporting young designers as an important mission. The platform offers a development curve that allows creators to gradually progress towards professional visibility, brand building and international presence.
Zsófia Jakab added that Budapest Fashion Week has always been a bastion of creativity and innovation in the region. “Our goal is not only to showcase the excellence of regional fashion, but also to ensure that the fashion industry remains at the forefront of cultural and economic change. For this reason, talent management is of strategic importance, which is also reflected in the program structure of the AW2627 season: collective presentations, individual presentations and fashion shows build on each other to create the opportunity for professional advancement, while providing targeted attention to both already well-known brands and the most promising players of the next generation. Their support is an investment in our creative future. They are the lifeblood of the industry and they are the ones who treat sustainability not as an obligation, but as a fundamental principle. That is why we created the NEW GENERATION INDIVIDUAL SHOW category, which offers an independent presentation opportunity to young brands that have already gone beyond collective formats and are ready to individually realize their own vision,” emphasized the CEO of Creative Hungary.
When and where will the main events of BCEFW be?
The main fashion shows of the season will take place between February 13-15, 2026. The Friday programs will take place at the Apollo Gallery, which, with its contemporary, experimental character, creates an ideal environment for presenting the fresh, innovative collections of the new generation. The Saturday and Sunday shows will continue at the Museum of Fine Arts, where the meeting of the iconic cultural space and contemporary fashion provides the framework for the season's highlight presentations. The professional and educational accompanying programs will take place on Saturday and Sunday in the Fashion Hub program structure established at the Museum of Fine Arts. In addition, the museum will also feature a showroom specifically set up for resellers and distributors, where brands can personally receive business inquiries after the shows.
Every season, Budapest Central European Fashion Week strives to make the fashion industry visible not only on the catwalks, but also in the city’s professional and cultural ecosystem. During the week-long program series, various locations in Budapest will host nearly fifty events: lectures, discounted shopping opportunities, showroom openings and professional forums, covering the entire value chain of the sector from education and production to distribution and consumption. The initiative aims to bring the values of domestic brands to a wider professional and market audience, and to increase demand for the products of Hungarian designers, thereby supporting the long-term economic growth of the creative industry.
