Punk-Rock Band Rise Against set to Perform in Budapest Soon

2026.01.27

Rise Against will give its eighth concert in Hungary on July 1. The Chicago punk-rock band will present its latest album in Budapest Park, organizer Live Nation announced on Tuesday.

The punk-rock band Rise Against, formed in 1999, arrives in Budapest this summer: they are set to perform in Budapest Park on 1 July. The band has successfully maintained its original rebellious spirit, as demonstrated by its tenth studio album, Ricochet, which was released last year.

Rise Against's latest album, composed of Tim McIlrath (vocals, guitar), Joe Principe (bass guitar, vocals), Brandon Barnes (drums, percussion) and Zach Blair (guitar, vocals), examines the themes of lies, greed and cruelty that flood the world, they wrote.

The writing of the album began after the marathon tour of their ninth album, Nowhere Generation in 2021. The ideas, which were put together by lyricist frontman Tim McIlrath and the band's other songwriter, Joe Principe, were finalized in the studio, with the aim of letting go of the expectation of how a Rise Against song should sound.

Catherine Marks (Boygenius, St. Vincent) was asked to produce, and Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, Killers) was responsible for mixing, who gave the sound a "sophisticated, atmospheric feel".

In addition to Ricochet's angry songs, Rise Against's old classics will also be played on July 1st at Budapest Park, where they will perform for the fourth time after 2018, 2022 and 2024. The band performed at the Dürer Garden in 2010, at the Sziget Festival in 2011, at the Petőfi Hall in 2012, and at the VOLT Festival in Sopron in 2015.
