Budapest Park, which also cooperates with the Sziget Festival, is expecting many new attractions and well-known foreign and Hungarian performers in 2026.
This year, many world stars, including Moby, A Perfect Circle, the Sex Pistols, as well as Hungarian top acts such as Irie Maffia, Carson Coma, Ivan & The Parazol and Majka, will give concerts in Budapest Park, which opens on Thursday, where the ParkLab music project is among the many new acts.
"For fourteen years, we have been working to show the largest possible crowd the feeling of liberation, what it's like to rejoice together, which has now spread to the entire country. We are also trying to symbolize this by putting up the national flags of foreign performers, a total of nine countries, as well as the Hungarian, EU and Pride rainbow flags in the Park for the first time this year," said András Pálffy, founder of Budapest Park, at Wednesday's press conference.
The venue is also cooperating closely with the Sziget festival this year and will have its own stage at the August event.
ParkLab and dancing robot arms
Among the new features of this year's fifteenth season of the Park, András Pálffy reported on the launch of ParkLab, which organizes the musical branch of Budapest Park's social engagement into a kind of program package. One element of this is that from mid-summer, Budapest Park's online radio, Park FM, which has been operating for two years, will be renewed, with which a new music award will be established.
Imre Rimóczi, Budapest Park's operations and artistic director, said that this year, industrial robot arms will appear on the main dance floor, which arrived from a car factory, and will dance after the evening concerts. The lights above the main dance floor have also been renewed, while several points of the Park, including the Retro Garden and the Hill, have also received new lighting.
"As part of the developments, the mixing stand has been moved from the middle to the side, so that there is a direct view of the stage from as many points on the dance floor as possible. The round counter will be given a new location, with a terrace on top," he added.
Safety and education at Budapest Park
The focus remains on safe entertainment: the specially operating team, the Vibe Team, to which visitors can turn with any questions or problems, will now be present at a fixed, easily accessible point this year.
In addition, educational content is being prepared to help young concertgoers and their parents party consciously and safely. A self-developed application that works with live data supports the return journey.
