On August 7, the Heart of Broadway Will be Beating in Budapest

The most famous songs from Carmen, Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde and Rudolf the musical will be performed on August 7th at the Margaret Island Theatre by well-known singers such as Nikolett Füredi, Veronika Nádasi, Franciska Lipics, Zsolt Homonnay, Péter Sándor and György Szomor. The special feature of the evening is that the world-famous composer of the musicals, Frank Wildhorn, will also be personally participating in the performance.

The general public can see a magical musical gala on August 7 at the Margaret Island Open Air Stage: Frank Wildhorn, the world-famous American composer nominated for multiple Grammy, Tony and Emmy awards, and his friends, Nikolett Füredi, Veronika Nádasi, Franciska Lipics, Zsolt Homonnay, Péter Sándor and György Szomor, will give a grand concert of the iconic musicals of the New York Broadway hit composer. The special feature of the evening is that the world-famous composer himself will participate on the piano and will also introduce the audience to his personal thoughts, so that the audience can also gain insight into the history of the creation of each musical.

Frank Wildhorn is best known in Hungary for his musical presentations that have attracted increased professional and public interest. The unforgettable melodies of the musicals Carmen, Jekyll and Hyde or Rudolf have forever written themselves in the history of musical theater. The exceptional and unrepeatable gala concert is choreographed and directed by Gábor Lénárt, directed by Zsolt Homonnay, a Mari Jászai Award-winning theatre artist and artistic director of the Operetta Theatre. A simultaneous interpreter will help to make the stage easier to understand.

The first half of the evening will feature the Danube Symphony, which was previously performed by the Vienna Philharmonic and most recently at the Ulm International Danube Festival and has been a great success with the public. Wildhorn put his grandiose work on paper with a harmonious combination of classical and modern, contemporary musical styles, as a sign of his respect for his beloved river, the Danube. The characteristic Wildhorn soundscape, fueled by deep emotions, enchants the audience and takes them along the Danube from its source to the Black Sea. The authentic operetta theatre experience and the unparalleled musical experience are guaranteed by the Budapest Operetta Theatre's Symphony Orchestra, consisting of over 80 members, conducted by Gyula Pfeiffer, the Liszt Ferenc Award-winning conductor and principal music director.
