Metallica fans can look forward to a book launch, screenings, a blood donation event and tribute concerts at the Metallica Budapest Takeover on 12 June.
Kirk Hammett's book and guitar launch, film screenings, blood donation and tribute concerts await the audience on June 12th at the Metallica Budapest Takeover event, which will be held on Friday, between the band's two concerts in Budapest.
In a statement, the organizers reminded that Metallica will perform at the Puskás Arena on June 11th and 13th with different setlists and support bands as part of their M72 World Tour.
As highlighted, one of the most exciting events of the program will be Kirk Hammett's book and guitar presentation at the House of Music Hungary, where he will talk about his book The Collection: Kirk Hammett, which presents his Gibson guitar collection, with legendary guitarist Ákos Dudich. The presentation will be held in English.
Metallica Budapest Takeover Features A Film Festival, Tribute Shows and a Free Party
The Metallica Film Festival will also be held that day, within the framework of which, with the purchase of a single cinema ticket, you can see the band's concert films made in three different periods: Cliff' Em All, Cunning Stunts and Orgullo, Pasión y Gloria: Tres Noches En La Ciudad de Mexico. In addition to the songs, the films will be enriched with background information, members' speeches and home videos.
Barba Negra will host the event ...And Tributes For All!, where Hungarian tribute bands will pay tribute to Metallica and its guests: Scary Guyz will come with Metallica songs, Silver Cord will come with Gojira songs, and Vulgar Display will come with Pantera songs.
In addition to the concerts, fans can try out the wah pedal of the band's legendary bassist Cliff Burton, who died in 1986, and a raffle will be held by Morley to win a Cliff Burton signature wah pedal and a Kirk Hammett signature Ltd KH-602 guitar.
Those interested can also purchase a Cliff Burton t-shirt, available only at this event, and the proceeds from the sale will be donated to an organization selected by the local official fan club with the approval of the Cliff Burton Foundation.
This event will be followed by Fuel For The Night, a free party at the Akvárium Klub, where the audience will be entertained until dawn with the best clips and songs of Metallica and other metal bands.
The band and the Hungarian Red Cross will also organize a blood donation at the Budapest Arena on June 11th and 12th. Metallica will thank all successful blood donors for their help with a limited edition gift t-shirt.
The organizers are also preparing a special pop-up shop in Budapest, where, in addition to a wide variety of Metallica souvenirs, photo walls bringing the band's iconic album covers to life will be waiting for everyone between June 10th and 14th at the Allee Shopping Center.
