British comedian Jimmy Carr is returning to Budapest in 2027 with his new stand-up show Laughs Funny. Known for his razor-sharp one-liners, deadpan delivery and famously dark sense of humour, Carr will perform at the Sportaréna on March 17, 2027.

The show is part of Carr’s latest international tour and promises an evening of brand-new material. The performance will be in English, without translation.

This will not be Carr’s first visit to Budapest. He last performed here in 2024 as part of his Terribly Funny tour, with shows at MoM Sport in March and the Budapest Congress Centre in April. His return brings him back to the city with an entirely new set.

Carr has been one of Britain’s best-known comedians for more than two decades. He is particularly familiar to British television audiences as the long-time host of Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Big Fat Quiz of the Year. He has also built a substantial international following through his stand-up tours and Netflix specials.

His distinctive style combines a poker-faced delivery with quick one-liners and deliberately provocative material. Carr was also the first UK comedian to sign a stand-up deal with Netflix, and his fourth Netflix special, Natural Born Killer, was released in 2024.

A night at Budapest Arena

Carr’s Budapest show will take place at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, one of the city's largest indoor event venues. Opened in 2003, the arena hosts major concerts, sporting events and other large-scale shows, with a maximum capacity of around 12,500 depending on the event setup.

The venue is located on Stefánia út, next to the Puskás Ferenc Stadion, and is easily reached by public transport, including Metro Line 2 and Tram 1.

Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny takes place on March 17, 2027, at 7:30pm. Tickets are currently listed from HUF 7,990.
