Track renovation and traffic changes will take place on tram lines 1, 12, and 14 during the last two weeks of August, BKV Zrt. announced in a statement to MTI on Friday.
Between August 16 and 31, BKV will continue the renovation of Budapest's tram network on the Pest side: On tram line 1, between Lurdy Ház and Közvágóhíd, as well as on tram lines 12 and 14, in the vicinity of the Angyalföld depot, experts will replace worn-out track components.
On tram line 1, 1,344 meters of new track will be laid between Lurdy Ház (Mester utca) and Közvágóhíd. On tram lines 12 and 14, several track elements will be replaced at the Angyalföld depot and two new turnouts will be installed.
"The renovation work will necessarily involve changes to traffic. Information about these can be found on the BKK website. (...) BKV thanks passengers and commuters for their patience," the announcement states.
