From November 14, the Advent Basilica awaits visitors with anniversary light painting. Meanwhile, the Vörösmarty Square Christmas Market offers amazing new light installations.

The 15th Advent Basilica awaits the audience with anniversary light painting, and Vörösmarty Classic Xmas awaits visitors with new light installations, as well as numerous festive programs, craft and gastronomic exhibitors, maximized-priced dishes and a 1,600-forint menu from November 14.

In a statement sent to MTI, the organizers emphasize that Christmas markets are the festive centers of Budapest. As they write, their goal is to make the festive period unforgettable with quality experiences accessible to everyone, building on classic Christmas traditions.

Advent Basilica: wonderful lights, musical programs in the heart of Budapest

The Advent Basilica welcomes visitors on Szent István tér, where, in addition to the starry sky-like light net and the almost 12-meter-high Christmas tree, the iconic element of the fair, the light painting projected onto the facade of the basilica, will be renewed.

The organizers are using a more modern and brighter technology, with which they will present a new light-projected film in addition to the previous ones, which tells the story of the 120-year-old history of the St. Stephen's Basilica. Visitors can watch the light painting projections every half hour from 5:30 p.m. every day.

The musical programs will be supplemented by choir concerts. A new welcome gate awaits those arriving at the entrance to the fair, and a light tunnel leads towards Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út. In addition to the multilingual selfie machine, new selfie points will also be created on the fair grounds. At the catering units, company signs will help you find your way around, and the gastronomic experience will be completed with uniform tableware and takeaway boxes - they write.

Vörösmarty Classic Xmas: a light show experience and much more awaits you

The organizers emphasize that this year, the transparent "snow globe" protecting the Vörösmarty statue will be the central spatial element on Vörösmarty Square, within which a new, light show-like sculpture lighting has been created. The lighting of the square will also be renewed: in addition to the decorations, the living Christmas tree will receive unique lighting, and each of the trees standing on the square will be decorated with a separate light installation.

On the fair's multimedia LED wall, visitors can control motion-sensing, AI-generated animations - they write, adding: Vörösmarty quotes will also appear on the surface in several languages.

Cushioned seating areas will be created on the marble slab around the statue. New selfie points, company signs and tableware matching the fair's image will also be available on the square, and the free light railway will have a new stop called Vörösmarty tér.

At both locations, each large kitchen will have a dish available for a fixed price of 1,600 forints. Plain lángos, cheese sour cream lángos, stuffed cabbage, sausage with bread and mustard, and plain mulled wine will be available at maximized prices at the fairs.

Thematic gastro weekends, unique products, charity actions

Thematic gastro weekends will also be held, where exhibitors will prepare dishes that can be purchased for between 2,000 and 2,500 forints, among other things. The themes include goose dishes, pork knuckle, fish, sweets, stew and goulash, stuffed cabbage and alcoholic beverages. Lentil Day will conclude the series at the Advent Basilica on January 1st.

Craft exhibitors, folk artists, applied artists and creators offering modern designer products will also contribute to the atmosphere of the fairs with their unique, handmade works.

The Nativity scene and the monumental Advent wreath will also be located on Szent István Square this year, where ceremonial candle lightings are held on Sundays. Both fairs are also prepared with charity actions.
