A Perfect Circle to Perform in Budapest for The First Time

2025.10.27

The world-famous American alternative rock supergroup A Perfect Circle will perform in Budapest Park on June 15, 2026, organizer Live Nation told MTI on Monday.

A Perfect Circle, formed in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and singer Maynard James Keenan, has released four studio albums so far, the latest of which, Eat the Elephant, was released in 2018. Their most successful songs, including Judith and 3 Libras, are considered cornerstones of alternative-hard rock. Now they are set to go on a European tour, including a concert in Budapest Park.

"To our European friends. We miss you. It's been far too long… like seven years too long. We found a solution." - Billy...

A Perfect Circle: great musicians, tense and ethereal music

Among the members of A Perfect Circle, Maynard James Keenan is primarily known as the frontman of alternative metal, Tool, but he also sings in Puscifer. Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha and drummer Josh Freese have played in star bands such as Devo, Nine Inch Nails, Guns N' Roses and Foo Fighters, while bassist Matt McJunkins has worked with Eagles of Death Metal and Thirty Seconds to Mars.

In the history of the American album chart, Billboard, A Perfect Circle is the one whose debut album, Mer de Noms, released in 2000, reached the highest position (4th place) in its week of release. This material also includes Judith and 3 Libras. After the next two successful studio albums, Thirteenth Step (2003) and eMOTIVe (2004), the band took a break from 2005 to 2009, during which time the members focused on their parent bands. Their comeback material, Eat the Elephant (2018), topped the Billboard rock album chart.

Their music is melancholic, tense and ethereal, with some critics referring to it as if it were a more lyrical Tool, although A Perfect Circle has always gone their own way. The band has toured as a headliner at festivals around the world and has filled prestigious venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden and Red Rock Amphitheatre, as well as appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show.

The band last performed in Europe in 2018, and next year they will visit Budapest as part of an eighteen-stop tour.
