MOMKult's network of affiliated institutions – including the Barabás Villa, Hegyvidék Gallery, Local History Collection, Jókai Club, Cultural Salon, and the historic Lóvasút – provide a wide range of venues for culture, heritage, and community life.
Located along Csörsz Street in Budapest’s 12th district, MOMkult stands at the center of a new urban hub, connected to the MOM Park and MOM Sport complexes. The Bauhaus-style building, originally constructed in 1951, is recognized as a listed monument. With its striking dome and elegant interiors, it offers a unique atmosphere for cultural events.

After a major renovation in 2011, MOMkult quickly established itself as one of Budapest’s leading cultural venues while retaining a welcoming, community-oriented character. Its reputation is reinforced by hosting prestigious festivals such as the Jazzy Festival, the Get Closer Jazz Festival, and the Cziffra Classical Music Festival.
MOMkult is more than just a cultural center: it is also a true meeting place. Its leafy inner courtyard is a green oasis in the heart of the city, while its café terrace, children’s playground, and open-air stage make it a favorite destination for summer gatherings. The playground, completely renewed in 2017, now features modern equipment, a mist gate, drinking fountain, shaded resting areas, and a unified green lawn, creating a family-friendly environment.

The name MOMkult reflects its roots in the Magyar Optikai Művek (Hungarian Optical Works), founded in 1876 by Nándor Süss. On the site of the former factory complex, a new cultural center has emerged – blending history, architecture, and contemporary community life.
