Hungaroring

Hungaroring is Hungary’s premier motorsport racetrack, located just outside Budapest near the town of Mogyoród. Opened in 1986, it became world-famous as the host of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, the first F1 race ever held behind the Iron Curtain.

What makes Hungaroring interesting is its tight and twisty layout, often compared to a karting track, which tests driver skill more than raw speed. Overtaking is notoriously difficult here, making strategy and precision essential. The track is about 4.38 km (2.72 miles) long with 14 turns, and its often hot, dry summer races challenge both cars and drivers.

Set in a natural amphitheater, spectators enjoy excellent views, and the proximity to Budapest makes it a popular destination for international fans. The Hungaroring also hosts touring cars, GT racing, and other motorsport events throughout the year.

Parking

• The Hungaroring provides free parking for a significant number of vehicles around the circuit for the spectators arriving by car. Only vehicles classified as cars may park in the car parking lots.
  Tourist buses, special shuttles can park in the paid parking area between gates 3 and 6 at a unit price of 32.000 HUF or 80 EUR per day, regardless of size and number of passengers (suggested approach: from main road 3 via Szilasliget).Motorbike
  Motorcyclists can leave their vehicles in the free car parking areas, but it is important to note that these are not asphalted.
• People arriving by bicycle or scooter can leave their bicycle or scooter at the bicycle racks located in the parking lots next to gates 7 and 2B. The "storage" is not guarded, so you are advised to bring the necessary security equipments.
