Óbuda is a vast, quiet district in the northern part of the Buda side, with medieval cobblestone streets and ancient Roman ruins. In it is the Zichy Mansion, giving home to the Old Buda Museum, which displays historical documents and relics of the once-standalone town, which is today a part of Budapest (since 1873).
There are Art Nouveau interiors and toy & game collections from the 19th century, as well as beautiful examples of wrought-iron masonry, and a maquette of the Buda Castle.
