The eclectic four-storey building of the present County Hall stands on the lower west side of Széchenyi square. The County Hall was erected on two grounds where the houses of the Czyndery and the Cséby families once used to stand. The Emperor Joseph II. stayed in the Czyndery house during his 1770 visit. The building was bought by the Pécs-Baranya Central Savings Bank in 1895, and this is where they have built their headquarters. The bees and beehives ornamenting the building symbolize the activities of the savings bank as well. The Roman numbers on the building refer to the 1898 completion of the house. Every piece ornamenting the façade was made in the Zsolnay porcelain factory of Pécs. The ground level of the complex, where now you can see the Tourinform office, used to house the Royal Café. The visitors of the town can receive detailed information about the touristical services of Pécs and the county at the Tourinform Offices.
