Looking toward the Erzsébet bridge from the Ferenciek square, there are two beautiful art nouveau style palaces on both sides of the road. They are mirroring each other, their name is “Klotild” and “Matild”, the two old dames. They have been built at the beginning of the 20th century by Klotild archduchess (Habsburg family).

A famous Hungarian Café operated in the left building (Klotild) from 1901, and it reopened amongst the first ones after the II. World War. The storms of the history damaged the Lido many times, but recently it was renovated and opened again. The Lido got back its original style and magnificence based on precise research for old photos and architectural descriptions.

Stepping in you will immediately grabbed by the magical atmosphere. On the ground floor – passing by the cloakroom and the reception you can get into the “game hall” equipped with the most modern machines. In the basement there are a professional poker room with a bar serving both the excitement of the game and the refreshment of the drinks.
